Meet Chef Coral Strong
How long have you been cooking?
I've been cooking since I was a little girl as I always wanted to help my Mom, my passion got stronger as I became more independent and started living on my own, around 18.
What is your cooking style?
Fresh ingredients, always from scratch, and not over manipulating the ingredient.
What made you pursue a career feeding people?
I wanted to bring the customer service side of my background as a bartender to the business side of me as a former accountant. Combine that with my love for natural & whole foods, made me want to become a chef/ restaurateur.
What do you love to cook at home?
Leftovers. But really, just simple. A piece of fish or steak on the grill, with a garden salad or grilled vegetables.
What is your favorite restaurant in San Diego?
Trust & Wrench & Rodent. Consistently pleased, and never disappointing.
If you were a piece of produce, what would you be?
Garlic, because that is the base of absolutely everything I cook with. Otherwise arugula, because I am obsessed with leafy greens and must have a salad a day.
